8x10 oil on canvas panel
Enjoyed painting this boat.  I loved mixing the grays.  Wasn't quite sure what color to do the background.  The water did look cerulean or even more aqua in my photo.  This photo of the painting doesn't really capture the correct color I ended up with.  My goal was to have the value correct.
This past week I dropped off my paintings to the Ohio Arts Market.  I've been busy painting so that I would have some things to put in this gallery.   The curator informed me that an anonymous person wanted to sponsor an artist by helping with the rental fee for a few months and she asked me if I was interested.  Of course I was and look forward to being part of this market.
I also just opened up a store on Etsy.  I don't have much to put on there just yet but am excited about this opportunity to sell.

Red Knockout

8x10 oil on stretched canvas

A beautiful sunny day in Ohio and I got a good photo of this painting.  My husband is actually trimming our knockout rose bushes right now as I post.  He keeps them looking beautiful!

Crazy for Daisy

6x6 oil on ampersand panel

8x10 oil on canvas panel
My daughter loved this shot when she was going through my photo library.  I'm surprised at how well I enjoy painting glass.  Never would have thought I could do it.  Getting the grays correct is getting so much easier.  I'm in love with grays.  It makes the focal points stand out so much more.

Blue Vase

8x10 oil on canvas panel
Love my new blue vase.  Fall weather here in Ohio is right around the corner.  I'm enjoying these flowers now.  I've been setting up still lifes on my patio and taking snapshots for my picture library.  Since I'm in the shop in Ohio now, I need to do some more local scenes and still lifes.  The beach and boats aren't in high demand here.

Windy Go

6x6 oil on ampersand panel
Decided to do another painting from this photo.  It's in Sarasota Marina and every time I've been there the sailboat has been in its slip.

What a knockout!

6x6 oil on ampersand panel
I now have a new best friend.  A girl from OfficeMax really knows how to scan paintings.  I had many scanned, saved on a zip drive as JPG and PDF files, and had a few printed out already.  They really do look like the original, brushstrokes and all.  I was extremely pleased with the results and the price was right, too.   I also got clear bags and backing boards ordered from and business cards from  We'll see where this takes me.  Heading out to find some inexpensive easels to display my smaller paintings.

Knockout in Cup

6x6 oil on ampersand panel
Looked into getting my work in Ohio Art Market featuring only artists in Ohio.  The gallery is in Westerville, another great town with lots of shops and galleries, restaurants, etc.   I realize I'm not quite ready to take on two places just yet.  I need more inventory and the curator suggested I get a good scan and make prints of my work to also sell.   I really like that idea.  She would like to have my work in her gallery.
I've decided to work on a smaller scale again and go back to 6x6s for a while.  I need to paint, paint, paint.  I'm so excited!
