Hanby House

8x10 oil on gessoed masonite

This is a historic site in Westerville, Ohio.  Here's some interesting information:  William Hanby occupied this house from 1853-1870.  He was co-founder of Otterbein University.  He was a preacher, teacher, an abolitionist and a composer.  A familiar song of his is Up on the Housetop.  The house is on the National Register of Historic Places and is recognized as a significant Underground Railroad site.  Thought you might enjoy knowing this.
