Albatross

11x14 oil on stretched canvas
Many boats were anchored in the bay, but these two with their gorgeous blue sails, caught my eye.  I had fun using a brush and palette knife on this one.  Using a brush gave me the softer look on the  building and the palette knife was used in the focal point boats and water.  I extended the painting around the edges of the canvas.  I have left the edges white or black.  I've also read that you might paint the predominant color around the edges.  It's your own preference.  I just don't have a preference right now.
